Billie is a member of the Homeless Garden Project CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) "you pick" harvest program. Every friday she goes to their AMAZING garden to pick her share of organic vegetables, fruit and flowers. The farm is maintained by former homeless individuals looking for a fresh start and opportunity to heal, prosper and grow. Also you will find college interns, community volunteers and full time employees working on the land.
We were told by Forest, one of the organizations employees, its best to sign up for CSA food harvest program quick before the Homeless Garden Project becomes more well known and there will be a wait list. I know this will eventually happen because more and more people are starting to develop more awareness to food sources and feeling the separation from nature. It's time to get back to the land, get our hands dirty and grow more gardens.
Thank you Homeless Garden Project, you are a huge assest to our community. I am looking forward to volunteering this week.
Also...60% of our vegetables for creating Yum Qi's first product line of Kimchi will be coming from our personal harvest from the Homeless Garden Project farm.
Foods does taste a lot better when you pick it yourself.
YUM QI LIFE!
